In Wisemans Ferry a special project has been underway to create a memorial, to be ready in time for the Centenary ANZAC Day 25 April 2015, to all local residents who HAVE honoured the ANZAC tradition by serving their country in times of war.
Wisemans Ferry Cross Country Run at Del Rio Riverside Resort
The sacrifices of those who gave up the comforts of home and family to defend the freedoms of all Australians should never be forgotten or allowed to fade from grateful memory.
Under the amazing leadership of local SAS Vietnam Veteran, Wayne Moore, the local community has volunteered time, donated materials and money enabling the foundations for Wisemans Ferry and District’s memorial to be laid. However, to finish the project $70,000 is needed and as a fund raiser a 10.6km Cross Country Run, the Wisemans Ferry and District War Memorial Inc Cross Country Run, is to be held Saturday 28th September 2013 starting and finishing at Del Rio Riverside Resort.
